8/6 Day 165 M: Well, I got about two hours of sleep. I was up until 4am unable to settle when I wasn’t coughing and couldn’t rest when I was coughing. Mini Moose decided that that he was fully rested at 7AM. I’m sore from coughing and sleeping stiff. My neck and shoulders are like rocks. Luckily the little sunburn I got from the patch I missed putting sunblock on my back is fine. It isn’t even red or tender. I am very drained though.
It was a non-energetic day. We still had our 50:50 catch rate, but I missed two poops. The first one I missed I had heard a warning but second guessed myself and didn’t give it my full attention. A minute later he’d wiggled out of the prefold on the floor, pooped, and moved away from it. Oh well. I missed another one later in the day when I was out of the room and he was on the floor, when I got back he looked wet and I discovered it was more than a big pee. Poor thing. I usually have him diaper free most of the day but I was using the prefold and belt today. His testicles were looked a little red from just two poop misses, so I left the diaper completely off even after missing that last poop. The redness cleared up very quickly and we only missed a couple of small belly pees.
We went to bed pretty early and I put the flat with snappi for our usual night. He continues to wake me up after every pee and to nurse so we still communicate at night and we are rewarded with catches now and then.
If any of you are doing EC at night, don’t be discouraged if you can’t successfully catch at night, as long as the communication happens even a miss and quick change is still communicating something. It’s about the journey not the end goal, right?

My night time catches go in waves. I can go a week and not miss a thing at night, then the next week I have wet nappies coming out of my ears.
I know right? Some nights I wonder where he’s been hiding a second bladder!
We are using a diaper at night, but i take her pee everytime she wakes up to nurse (usually before nursing, which she doesn’t seem to mind). But the diaper is aways wet, so i know there are more pees happening. How often does your little guy pee at night?
